Hi. I'm Ashley.

Before, I wrote this page in all smallcaps, 'cause I thought it was cute. However, it kind of bugs me (a LOT; I'm a little OCD/control freak that way) even though it looks nicer, so I rewrote this.

This website in general is pretty narcissistic (I have the power to create as many subdomains as I like, so I made one just about mememe!) and this page in particular even more so. Clearly, I have a large ego. I think that when I'm older, and if I'm single and slightly desperate, I'll really enjoy filling out those profile thingys on online dating websites.

I'm not really sure what to write here that isn't either too revealing or covered somewhere else. I like to maintain somewhat of an air of ~*~mystery~*~ (yes, I TOTALLY just did that grade 5 type emphasis; I am so cool). However. I do like lists (and organizers, but that's a different story altogther), so...

  1. I really enjoy cheese. My goal is to visit lots of awesome cheese shops and learn a lot more about this fantastic food, and develop a sort of palate for it.
  2. I actually just really like food in general. Cooking it and eating it both make me really happy.
  3. My favourite chefs are Jamie Oliver (who has gotten uglier as of late, but is still super awesome and adorable anyway), Michael Smith (his crazy eyes freak me out, though), Anna Olson (omg desserts!), Alton Brown (I don't think he's actually a chef; I just adore him), Mario Batali (the king of Iron Chef America, basically) and Nigella Lawson (the most sexual chef...ever).
  4. Incidentally, the Food Network happens to be one of my favourite channels; I could watch it all day. I have, sadly enough.
  5. I could also watch Friday Night Lights all day. I also have done that. Yay for watching an entire season at once!
  6. Clearly, I watch a lot of TV.
  7. On the bright side, I also round out my extreme media consumption with books (♥), movies, and the newspaper.
  8. When I grow up, I want to be a journalist. Or a (benevolent) dictator. (And be in movies and have boobies, a la Pussycat Dolls).
  9. It'd also be cool to work on the radio (and by that I mean talk radio, and by that I mean CFRB 1010 - I'm kind of a nerd like that.)
  10. I love healthy discussion and discourse. I quite enjoy Michael Coren's accent, although he can be kind of a jerk sometimes.
  11. Accents make boys sexier. Fact.
  12. In that vein, I have a bit of a case of wanderlust. As cliche as it is, I definitely want to explore Europe (and Asia and South America, and hey, why not a good ol' fashioned American road trip while I'm at it?) but in the not-as-touristy, experience-local-culture sort of way.
  13. I love adventures.
  14. I feel sort of guilty when I travel though, 'cause of my carbon footprint and the waste of resources and all that jazz.
  15. I have a lot of guilt - I think 14 years of Catholic school plus adopting environmentalism has been the cause of that.
